OBG Lobby Day
Monday, March 17th OBG Brewery and Associate Members headed to the capitol to meet with lawmakers and their staff. Our main mission was to lobby against two bills that would negatively impact the beer industry, tell our stories, and build relationships.
It was a packed day full of meetings with Oregon State representatives from the House and Senate. We also hosted a happy hour event at PAC/WEST Lobbying in partnership with the Salem City Club where we were joined by community members, legislators, and their staff in a celebration of Oregon Beer.
One of our new members had this to say:
"Everyone I met with at the Capitol received us so warmly, and OBG's messaging was so clear that it was easy to argue the points we were there to discuss while also sharing our story. It was great meeting fellow brewers, hop farmers, and legislators and their aides. I look forward to next time!"
However, our work in the Capitol is never finished- we continue to monitor proposed legislation and nurture relationships with Oregon's Lawmakers. We may be making some specific asks for you in the coming weeks to communicate directly with folks about specific proposals.

The link also includes a map that will allow you to determine if your city has more than one legislator. Don't forget to check if your home address has different representation than your brewery!
