Happy Thursday, Portland! Today we’re tapping Bleigh’nd Melon Cantaloupe IPA. This 5.6% ABV, 66 IBU small batch brew is a celebration of that sweet, golden-hued fruit and a shout-out to Innovation Brewmaster Tom Bleigh (and a nod to a certain early 90’s alt-rock band.)

In a true labor of beer love, Tom hand-scooped a mountain of fresh California cantaloupes to add to the whirlpool of this musky IPA. Additions of Hull Melon and Eureka hops round out the melon aroma, and a final addition of cantaloupe was added just prior to reaching terminal. The result is a subtle IPA with multiple layers of melon flavor.

For this week’s Beer & Bite, we’re pairing Bleigh’nd Melon with Steelhead ceviche with finely diced fresh jalapeno, shallot, honeydew melon and lime juice.

Small Batch Happy Hour— Stop by the pub community table from 4:30-5:30pm today for an exclusive first taste of Bleigh’nd Melon Cantaloupe IPA. See you soon!

Beer School now in session— Join us in the pub for Beer School next Wednesday, November 9th at 4:00pm. Our good friend and beer enthusiast Ethan Steffensen will be waxing poetic about Bock beers, the malty, heavy, complex beers of the German beer world.
