THE THIRD ANNUAL MALT BALL BRINGS BEER AND MUSIC TOGETHER

The Portland Mercury, Oregon Brewers Guild and Widmer Brothers Brewing Present
Portland’s Premiere Music and Craft Beer Event

Friday March 7th & Saturday March 8th at Wonder Ballroom, 128 NE Russell St in Portland

Once again, two of the best things about Portland come together in one delicious, great sounding package: The third annual Malt Ball is a beer festival with great music, or a concert with exclusive and specially brewed beers, depending on how you want to look at it.
There is no shortage of beer festivals in Portland, but while they’re excellent showcases for the bounty of great breweries in Oregon, sometimes the live entertainment can leave a little to be desired. There’s no shortage of great bands in Portland, either—which is why it makes perfect sense to combine the two, for a two day festival that celebrates the best of each sphere.
The Malt Ball is the first event to capitalize on both Portland’s enviable music scene and its wealth of great beer. Despite what others may tell you, this is about as Portland as it gets. Taking place on Friday March 7th & Saturday March 8th at the Wonder Ballroom (128 NE Russell), the Malt Ball features a dozen great bands over the two days, featuring:

Red Fang
Genders
The Woolen Men
Summer Cannibals
Your Rival
Thanks
Hot Victory
Grandhorse
St. Even
Campfires
Night Mechanic
Melville.

Not only is each brewer offering a special beer for the event, they’ve been paired with a particular band to brew a collaborative beer specifically for that band’s music. At the Malt Ball, it will be possible to spend the day tasting the beers brewed for each band while that band is playing.

Participating band collaborations from: Alameda Brewing, Base Camp Brewing, Breakside Brewery, Claim 52 Brewing, Commons Brewery, Ecliptic Brewing, Fort George Brewery, Gigantic Brewing, Lompoc Brewing, McMenamins Crystal Brewery, Uptown Market Brewing and Widmer Brothers Brewing.

Seasonal beers provided by: 13 Virtues Brewing, Ambacht Brewing, Burnside Brewing, Coalition Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project, Deschutes Brewery ‐ Portland Pub, Full Sail Brewing, GoodLife Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing, Portland Brewing, Seven Brides Brewing, Stickmen Brewery and Worthy Brewing
