Oregon breweries won 7 medals at the 2016 European Beer Star competition at BrauBeviale in Nuremberg on November 9. Deschutes Brewery, Pelican Brewing Company, pFriem Family Brewers and Worthy Brewing Company were the Oregon breweries honored with medals from the prestigious competition.
The European Beer Star Award is given to particularly authentic beers with lots of character, which impress the jury in terms of both flavor and quality, and which best meet the criteria for the type of beer. Winners were selected from over 2,100 entries (a 7% increase from 2015) from 44 countries by a panel of 124 judges.
