Gilgamesh Brewing Releases Limited Edition Beer to Coincide Upcoming Production of The Wizard of Oz

Salem, OR – In collaboration with Enlightened Theatrics, Salem’s nonprofit, professional musical theatre company, a Salem-based brewery has officially released LIONS TIGERS AND PEARS OH MY! — a refreshing, limited-edition beer in honor of the company’s summer production, The Wizard of Oz.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to continue this special partnership with Enlightened Theatrics and Meduri Farms,” stated Co-Owner of Gilgamesh Brewing, Matt Radtke. “Working in collaboration since their run of HAIR, we’ve been able to conceptualize and execute creative, quality products that not only speak to the caliber of their professional productions, but also reflect a shared core element of our missions–reinforcing Salem’s social, cultural and economic revolution through community consciousness and local partnerships.”

The first in their Kettle Sour series will be available for sale by bottle and on tap at local Salem area favorites, including Roth’s Fresh Markets, Taproot Lounge & Cafe, Vagabond Brewing’s Victory Club and more, while supplies last. Gilgamesh Brewing, Enlightened Theatrics and Meduri Farms will kick off the release with a tasting event Friday, July 15 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Roth’s Fresh Markets in West Salem, located at 1130 Wallace Rd. NW. The brew will also be available at Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre during the six week run of The Wizard of Oz, as well as Enlightened Theatrics’ 2nd Annual BLOCK PARTY taking place Saturday, August 6 on High St. NE, between Court and State.

About LIONS TIGERS AND PEARS OH MY!

The first in Gilgamesh Brewing’s Kettle Sour series, this collaboration with Enlightened Theatrics and Meduri Farms is a wonderful example of a tart, yet dry full-bodied, sour ale that pours light with a delicate, fluffy head. This unique brew undergoes lactic acid fermentation at roughly 100 degrees Fahrenheit in Gilgamesh’s mash tun followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel post-boil. Pears from Meduri Farms are added to the fermentation tank to give it a compliment of fruitness and caramel-pear aromatics.
