Caldera Brewing Company Wins Two Gold Medals at Brussels Beer Challenge in Belgium

11-3-14 Ashland, Oregon – During two days a tasting panel of 60 international renowned beer connoisseurs have tasted 730 beers from all over the world. The participating beers are divided into categories based on origin, typicity and style and then evaluated. At the end of the two tasting days, the best beers, in each category, were awarded a gold, silver or bronze award. This professional beer competition is a unique opportunity for all beer producers to compete with the best international and Belgian brewers.

Caldera Brewing Company was pleased to receive the two Gold medals in an international competition. Pilot Rock Porter received a Gold medal in the Stout/Porter: Porter category and Mogli, a Bourbon Oak Aged Chocolate Imperial Porter, received a Gold medal in the Flavoured Beer: Chocolate category. Pilot Rock Porter is available in 12 oz. cans and Mogli is available in 22 oz. bottles.

Caldera is sold in 16 states and 7 countries. The brewery will produce around 10,000 barrels of beer in 2014 up from 7800 in 2013. One barrel equals 31 gallons or two kegs of beer. Caldera was the first brewery on the West Coast to brew and can its own beer back in 2005.
