Special January Tours
New Year New Brew Tour – $69
Sunday, January 12, 1:00 – 4:00 pm
The start of the new year is the perfect time to get out and visit some of the new breweries that have recently sprung up in Portland. First up is Ecliptic Brewing, from Portland brewing legend John Harris, where there will be a tour of the facility and a flight containing four of their astrologically named beers. Next it’s off to a brewery that has expanded from a space that barely could accommodate a tasting room to a full blown gastropub – Harvester Brewing. The dedicated gluten-free craft brewery opened in 2011 and the tour will get a look at the brewing facility then enjoy beer and appetizers at the pub. The final stop of the tour is 13 Virtues Brewing Co. There the tour will take a look at the new brewing setup and sample some of the 13 beers available in the taproom. Tickets for the tour are $69/person and include roundtrip transportation, facility tours, all beer and food, pretzel necklace, tasting journal and Pilsner glass. Progressive Dinner Tour – $85
Thursday, January 23, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
BREWVANA is helping to throw off the post-holiday, January blahs by offering a delicious three-stop Progressive Dinner Tour that starts out at Beer, the SE Stark beer bar and to-go bottle shop, for an appetizer pairing featuring soup from neighbor and sister business Meat Cheese Bread. The soup will be accompanied by a pair of beers carefully selected by owner John Stewart. Next it’s off to Sasquatch Brewing Co., tucked into the quaint Hillsdale area of Portland, for the main course. There the tour will dine on a specially crafted dish from chef Lauren Miller and enjoy the hard work of Sasquatch brewers Tom Sims and Charlie Van Meter. The final stop of the tour is Imperial Bottle Shop and Taproom on booming SE Division St. Dessert, blackberry raspberry streusel mini pies from neighboring Lauretta Jean’s, will be paired with brews selected by owners Alex Kurnellas and Shawn Stackpoole – a strong ale from Block 15, a cider from Finnriver and an imperial stout.
