It’s hard to beat the Pacific Northwest when it comes to beer. This tour will introduce you to the ingredients, history, and culture that makes the craft beer scene in the PNW admired worldwide.
We will start with the education first and introduce you to the ingredients in beer and how they’ve contributed to the rise of craft beer in the Pacific Northwest. We’ll walk you through the tasting process so you can better enjoy beers and explore new styles. Next stop- you’ll get VIP access behind the scenes to see the brewing process and how the ingredients work together to produce the liquid love. By the 3rd stop, you’ll be ready for some eats! Food paired with beer is the best way to enjoy a few bites. Our last stop will be a chill location where you can connect with your new beer friends, play some beer trivia with a chance to win a prize, while sipping on some of the city’s finest suds.

Short Description: Beer + whiskey = match made in heaven! This tour visits a brewery, distillery and Portland favorite dinner spot for a beer + whiskey pairing dinner.
Public tours are small groups, allowing guests to connect with each other, fourteen spots are available and advanced registration is required. Public tours pick up and drop off at the SE Growler Guys (816 SE 8th Ave).
In addition to the weekly scheduled tours, private tours are available anytime. Private tours are customized to meet the needs of the group and accommodate groups of any size. Groups of 7+ can book tours online easily when by choosing Create Your Own Dream Tour. Private walking tours are now available any day of the week starting at 11am, available for smaller groups and fun for kids too! Zymurgy is the study of fermentation, and Portland is all about some fermented beverages. This tour visits a kombucha brewery, cidery and brewery. Learn about the ingredients, process and culture of each of these. Gluten free friendly.
If you haven’t had it before you might be turned off by the looks of the scoby but we promise if you give it a try- you might really enjoy it! Kombucha is the new rage for several reasons and it can be easy to make at home. Learn about the process and taste different styles. It is becoming the #1 beverage for non drinkers, a great weekend start or hangover cure for the imbibers and it’s naturally gluten free. After supplying our digestive tracks with much needed probiotics we’ll get to know cider! Cider is also a gluten free alternative that has been gaining popularity in this region. Learn about the process and style and taste some fresh dry ciders before we graduate with our favorite- BEER! We’ll visit a brewery last where you’ll get to taste and experience some of the Northwests favorite brews. Sample beers, have some snacks and have a great time. This tour is Gluten Free friendly.

Although Seattle comes in first when it comes to coffee culture, Portland has learned a lot from our neighbors and comes in close second. We have an obsession with donuts and although we might drive you by Voodoo donuts to see the line, we’ll head to the locals favorite for your donut fix. After getting you caffeinated and full of sugar we’ll head to a local brewery for beer tasting and more. Learn about these 3 Portland specialties and why we’re leading the path in those categories for innovation and quality.
