Every January we celebrate the new year by releasing our best and strongest beers and this year is no exception. We opened the month with one of the strongest beers we ever brewed, a 14.1% ABV lager, and we’ll be following that up with two vintage Russian Imperial Stouts, an Old Ale, and an English-style Barleywine.
We hope you’ll join us every Wednesday evening at Rogue Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery!
January 17, 2018
Brewed at the Rogue Eastside Pub on the Green Dragon Brew Crew pilot system, this beer is like an old dragon: a monster with history! It is an old ale with a rustic twist. Primarily fermented with a German ale yeast, blended with wort fermented with Saccharomyces Trois for a bit of funk, then aged in a Pinot Noir barrel for one month. You don’t want to miss this beast!

Good Companion (English Barleywine)
Good Companion is a young English barleywine brewed entirely with British malts, hops, and yeast. This pale, full-bodied beer features an array of fruity flavor layered within notes of warm bread and toffee. This delicious barleywine also has just enough hop presence to balance its strength and malty richness. This beer is truly a Good Companion to warm your bones and shepherd you through a cold and dreary night.

Descent into Darkness (2014)
As fans of our beers know, this huge RIS is big, bold, smooth and delicious. Brewed in 2014, aged in Rogue’s Dead Guy Whiskey Barrels, and cellared for years, time has mellowed and melded the intense flavors resulting in a smooth rich bourbon barrel experience.
