Local soccer enthusiasts gather to create the
1st annual Cascadia 7v7 Brewer’s Cup

PORTLAND, Ore. – With all of the recent viewing of high level soccer – from the World Cup to the upcoming MLS All Star game in Portland – here’s a chance to actually get on the pitch. Lompoc Brewing has partnered with Portland City United Soccer Club and the Oregon Premier Soccer League to hold the 1st annual Cascadia 7v7 Brewer’s Cup. The event will take place on August 9 and 10 at Buckman Field, 300 NE 12th Ave.
The soccer tournament will feature four divisions, including Men’s Premier, Men’s O35, Men’s Recreational and a Women’s Open. Seven players will play against seven others, with four games going on at a time. Games play on the hour beginning at 8:30am and running through 3:30pm on Saturday; and 8:30am running through 11:30am on Sunday, with finals at 4 pm. Teams are still being accepted, visit www.pcusc.org/BrewersCup to register.
In addition to two full days of soccer, the event will also feature local beer from the Lompoc Brewing beer garden; killer food from Nourishment, Local Roasting Coffee, The Little Smokehouse and Organic Island Shave Ice; and a great cause, as the event is a fundraiser for the Community Transitional School, which provides educational services to homeless kids in the area.
The 7v7 is being held in conjunction with the Kennedy Cup, which is the best men’s amateur team from B.C., Washington, and two teams from the OPSL. This means that there will be some great soccer to watch all weekend long.
